In addition to its regular scholarship programmes, the DAAD offers a number of
special scholarships, research grants and research stays
to applicants from the following countries:
India, Indonesia, Thailand and Sri Lanka
(CCC-Scholarships)
Objective:
In view of earthquakes, floods, civil conflicts, health risks etc. international awareness of disaster preparedness is growing. In order to avoid catastrophes and conflicts and to mitigate their effects on the population, the environment, and the economies of affected regions, it is necessary to qualify experts in many fields. In continuation of its 2005 special scholarship programme for studies and research, the DAAD is offering German Foreign Office-funded special scholarships and esearch grants in the following areas:
Research Fields, Study Areas:
Geology, Geoinformatics, Disaster Preparedness and Prevention: Social Sciences, Public Sector Management, Medicine: Public Health, Epidemiology, Trauma Psychology, Regional Planning, Resources Management, and Ecology, Civil Engineering, Peace and Conflict Studies
Scholarships and Grants
A Short-term research grants – Post Doc – 14 – 90 days
B Doctorate in the home country involving “Sandwich” components in Germany – Master’s max. age 36 – 2 to 24 months
C Master’s degree in Germany – Bachelor’s max. age 32 – up to 24 months
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must specify their current area of research topic / study course with placement at a German university / research institute. Candidates should be employed in research institutions, universities or public sector in their countries with excellent academic record and recommendations.
